29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Medium Voltage Building, G-section (Strander 642-02): On or about April 2, 2016, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to unguarded rotating parts, in that the employer did not provide adequate guarding or safe guards to protect employees from leaning or reaching into the Cabelle Strander nose piece while removing moisture block build-up with a puddy knife. Southwire Company, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1076284, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 09/11/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 6771 Highway 78 East, Heflin, AL 36264.
