All 120-volt, single-phase 15- and 20-ampere receptacle outlets on construction sites, which are not a part of the permanent wiring of the building or structure and which are in use by employees, shall have approved ground-fault circuit interrupters for personnel protection. a.) 95 Coles St., Jersey City, NJ. Employees were observed using receptacle outlets that were not approved or deemed acceptable as a Ground-fault circuit interrupters under according to 29 CFR 1926.449(a); there-by exposing employees to electrical hazards. Violation occurred on or about 3/29/2016.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Location: 95 Coles St., Jersey City, NJ. It was learned that the employees were installing the stand pipe for a fire sprinkler system approximately 3ft. from an unprotected side/edge without any means of a fall arrest system in place, there-by exposing employees to a fall hazard that was approximately 10ft. to the next lower level. CSHO learned about the Violation that occured on or about 3/29/2016.
