29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) 270-276 Bridge St., Springfield, MA: On or about April 13, 2016, employees were throwing debris off the unprotected edge of the roof , into a dump truck parked on the street 17.4 feet below the roof edge. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1). N.L. Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of an equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 B(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 945061, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on November 19, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 24 Winthrop St., Springfield, MA.
