29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous Class II Division II locations were not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous Class 1 Division 2 location, or safe for the hazardous Class 1 Division II/ Zone 2 location: a) Sozio, Inc. at 51 Ethel Road West, Piscataway, NJ site - manufacturing: Class I Division I electrical equipment was not used where Class I flammable ethyl alcohol is used for production and cleaning operations. Means were not provided to prevent a fire/ explosion hazard, in that, the equipment used was not approved for Class I Division 2 locations. Equipment such as but not limited to the Lutz electric pump and the FTI "Finish Thompson, Inc." electric pump were used to pump flammable mixtures. Condition noted on or about 04/14/2016.
