The door and sign above the door are located in a small vestibule accessed through a doorway from the occupied areas.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(5): Each doorway or passage along an exit access that could be mistaken for an exit was not marked "Not an Exit" or similar designation, or be identified by a sign indicating its actual use (e.g. closet):  U-Haul Storage Area  On or about 4/29/16, in the following two instances, doors in the storage area, were not labeled that they were not exits.  Both doors had combination locks on the storage side, which did not allow passage without entering the combination.  a.) Door leading from the storage area into the store. b.) Door leading from the storage area into the hitch bay/garage.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(6): Each exit sign was not illuminated to a surface value of at least five foot-candles (54 lux) by a reliable light source and be distinctive in color:  U-Haul Hitch Bay/Garage  On or about 4/29/16, the exit door in the hitch bay/ garage area did not have an illuminated sign in a distinct color.  The only sign indicating where to exit was a piece of paper on the door with a message that read "Fire Exit Keep Clear" in black ink.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(7): Each exit sign did not have the word "Exit" in plainly eligible letters not less than six inches (15.2 cm) high, with the principal strokes of the letters in the word "Exit" not less than three fourths of an inch (1.9 cm) wide:  U-Haul Hitch Bay/Garage  On or about 4/29/16, the door from the garage area to the exit door did not have an exit sign that indicated the word "Exit" in large enough print to be legible by occupants in the area.

29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(4)(iv): 29 CFR 1910.1001(j)(4)(iv):  At the entrance to mechanical rooms/areas in which employees reasonably can be expected to enter and which contain asbestos containing material (ACM) and/or presumed asbestos containing material (PACM), the building owner did not post signs which identify the material which is present, its location, and appropriate work practices which, if followed, will ensure that ACM and/or PACM will not be disturbed.  U-Haul Basement  On or about 4/29/16, PACM was on the boiler and pipes in the basement.  The PACM was in an area that could be damaged and had some damage that occurred at an unknown time.  There were no signs indicating that the basement contained PACM, where it was or how to avoid disturbing/damaging it.
