29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(ii): Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger were repaired by splicing, which did not retain the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord that was spliced: a) DDM Novastar, Inc. - On or about April 20, 2016, an SO type flexible cord used for testing of ovens was spliced without retaining the insulation or outer sheath properties as inner wires and plastic wire nuts were exposed. b) DDM Novastar, Inc. - On or about April 20, 2016, an SO type flexible cord used to power a vertical band saw was spliced without retaining the insulation or outer sheath properties as inner wires and plastic wire nuts were exposed.
