OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees, in that employees were exposed to: Structural steel components were not designed to tolerate corrosion and were not protected against corrosion that impairs the strength or serviceability of the structure according to the American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc. Manual of Steel Construction ninth edition. (a) 2235 Attala Road 2202 in Kosciusko, MS - On or about April 27 to May 5, 2016, there were two columns on the South end of dip tanks of hydrochloric acid solutions that were corroded to the center core of the flanges on the steel I-beams.

29 CFR 1910.22(b)(1): Aisles and passageways were not kept clear and in good repair, with no obstruction across or in aisles that could create a hazard. (a) 2235 Attala Road 2202 in Kosciusko, MS - On or about April 27 to May 5, 2016, the two walkways (catwalks) between the acid tanks were not kept in good repair. The legs supporting the walkways were damaged and corroded to the point that some were bent, broken, and/or missing.

29 CFR 1910.23(c)(3): Regardless of height, open-sided floors, walkways, platforms, or runways above or adjacent to dangerous equipment, pickling or galvanizing tanks, degreasing units, and similar hazards were not guarded with a standard railing and toe board. (a) 2235 Attala Road 2202 in Kosciusko, MS - On or about April 27 to May 5, 2016, employees were not protected from falling into the hydrochloric acid solutions used to clean the steel because top guard rails were bent down or missing along the catwalks between the acid tanks and guard rails were missing on the ends of the acid tanks where employees walk from one tank to another.

It had heavy metal wire wrapped around the motor.
