29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): If at any time a powered industrial truck is found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the truck shall be taken out of service until it has been restored to safe operating condition: On 05/05/2016, an employee working for the U. S. Postal Service National Distribution Center located at 5800 Phantom Drive, Hazelwood, MO 63042, was exposed to a forklift in need of repair. The seatbelt was not functional. The seatbelt buckle would just slide up the seatbelt. It would not stay in the properly adjusted position for the operator. The forklift was being operated and not taken out of service.
