OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards. a) Elmwood Park Zoo, Norristown, Worksite - On or about May 10, 2016, employees are working from a scaffold platform attached to an telehandler, but the platform does not have a front guardrail installed and the employess are not utilizing personal fall protection equipment. Among others feasible means of abatement, one acceptable method is to follow ANSI B56.1-2005 entitled "Safety Standards for Low Reach and High Reach Trucks," Section 4.17 Elevating Personnel, c. which states "Be certain that required restraining means such as railings, chains, cable, body belt(s) with lanyards, or deceleration devices, etc., are in place and properly used".
