29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a. On or about 05/09/2016, at the job site - an employee installing metal flashing and caulking at the edge the roof of a gas station canopy fell about 16 feet 5 inch to the ground after tripping on the flashing. The employee was wearing a harness but was not connected. b. On or about 05/12/2016, at the job site - employees installing metal roofing, flashing and caulking from the roof of a gas station canopy were exposed to about 16 feet 5 inch to 25 feet 3 inch from the edge of the roof to the ground, in that, their harnesses were not connected.
