29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Facility, 1820 North Franklin Street, Pittsburgh, PA: On or about 05/17/16 there was no adequate guard on the National Baling Press Co. Inc. aluminum crusher to protect the operator from the moving ram. The interlock was not operating and the machine was able to function with the door open exposing the operator to contact with moving parts.
