OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards from falling or collapsing wood trusses:  R.A. Pinno Construction site located on Penny Ln, North Fond du Lac, WI: On May 17, 2016, employees were exposed to fall and crushing hazards while setting 60' long pole building trusses that were lifted without using a spreader bar and not properly braced to resist bending, breaking, or rolling over.  Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard would be to follow the instructions contained in the Building Components Safety Information (BCSI), Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining and Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses, edition 2013, and the associated Summary Sheets which detail the requirements for temporary and permanent bracing.
