29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about May 11, 2016 and at times prior, the employer, Vertec Tool, Inc., did not ensure employees, who were required to utilize the Bridgeport Chop Saw for metal cutting operations, were protected from exposure to amputation hazards. b) On or about May 11, 2016 and at times prior, the employer, Vertec Tool, Inc., did not ensure employees, who were required to utilize the Bridgeport Milling Machine for milling operations, were protected from exposure to caught-in hazards. c) On or about May 11, 2016 and at times prior, the employer, Vertec Tool, Inc., did not ensure employees, who were required to utilize the Central Machinery and Baldor Belt Sanders for metal sanding operations, were protected from exposure to in-going nip points.
