29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person: (a) On or about May 23, 2016, Garza & Son's Masonry, Inc., as the controlling employer, did not conduct frequent and regular inspections of the jobsite so as to ensure that employees of Stone Byron Masonry, LLC., a subcontractor, were appropriately protected from fall hazards. Employees of subcontractor were exposed to falls in excess of 15 feet while using a defective scaffold to install stone on the front of a residential building. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
