OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees Location: 50 Broadway 36th floor secondary motor room On or About: May 26th 2016 a) An employee removing steel cables on elevator #8 was injured when the steel cable the employee was removing became caught on the adjacent elevator that was still operational and in motion. AMONG OTHER METHODS, FEASABLE AND ACCEPABLE ABATEMENT METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD ARE: 1. Lock Out Tag Out adjacent elevator, when elevators share same shaft or partially share shaft. Refer to Elevator World 2015 Safety Handbook Pg. 49, Section 7, (Lockout and Tagout)
