29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) In the Truck Wash Area, Lazer Spot employees wash tractors and trailers with corrosive chemicals. Some Sysco employees have washed their own tractors using the corrosive chemicals. The chemicals used were concentrated Aluma Brite (pH: 0 to 1.0), ZEP Pro HD Truck & Trailer Wash (pH 13 to 14), and ZEP PDC Plain Disinfectant Cleaner II (corrosive, pH 11.5 to 12.2). The Host employer, Sysco Atlanta, did not implement an emergency eyewash/quick drenching facility in the immediate work area. A Sysco employee received 1st degree burns after a chemical exposure to Aluma Brite. Sysco Corporation was previously cited for a violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.151(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1007823, citation number 01, item number 003 and was affirmed as final order on March 12, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 1 Liebich Lane, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
