29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use:      (a) Pesce Ltd. 21 Hall St. Brooklyn, NY 11205. Employees creating the artist's designs are exposed to chemical hazards, including but not limited to, Toluene-2,6-Diisocyanate, contained in the rubber mold compound Smooth-On PMC-746. Employees were provided with half face tight fitting respirators for use during such operations. The employer did not develop, or implement a written respiratory protection program. The condition was noted at or around 06/09/16.          NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER  IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT  DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.

Employees creating the artist's designs are exposed to chemical hazards, including but not limited to, Toluene-2,6-Diisocyanate, contained in the rubber mold compound Smooth-On PMC-746. Employees were provided with half face tight fitting respirators for use during such operations. However, the employer did not ensure that the employees were provided with medical evaluation to the determine the ability of the employees to wear a respirator. The condition was noted at or around 06/09/16. Employees creating the artist's designs are exposed to chemical hazards, including but not limited to, Toluene-2,6-Diisocyanate, contained in the rubber mold compound Smooth-On PMC-746. The health effects of occupational exposure to isocyanates include occupational asthma, irritation of the skin, and mucous membranes (eyes, nose and throat), hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and chest tightness. The employer did not develop, or implement a written hazard communication program. The condition was noted at or around 06/09/16.           NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER  IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT  DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
