29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: At the base of the #1 settler tank at 153 Howland Ave Adams, MA: On or about June 7, 2016, the employer did not provide an emergency eyewash and shower on the first/lower floor of the settler tank area in that the closest emergency shower was located up a set of stairs and up a ramp to the third level (reactor level) of a mezzanine structure. The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the liquid Aluminum Sulfate listed the pH of the aluminum sulfate between 2.2 and 2.6 and also informs users of the product to "have an appropriate eye wash and safety shower stations available in the work area".
