29 CFR 1926.403(d)(1): Mounting. Electric equipment shall be firmly secured to the surface on which it is mounted. Location: 633 Mt, Prospect Ave, Newark, NJ 07104 a.) Employees were engaged in residential construction while utilizing high-powered electric equipment that was powered by an electrical fixture and an electric outlet in which the fixture utilized was not firmly mounted to the 2x4 frame of the residential building; there-by exposing employees to electrocution hazards. CSHO observed violation on or about 6/03/2016.

29 CFR 1926.405(j)(1)(i): Live parts. Fixtures, lampholders, lamps, rosettes, and receptacles shall have no live parts normally exposed to employee contact. However, rosettes and cleat-type lampholders and receptacles located at least 8 feet (2.44 m) above the floor may have exposed parts. Location: 633 Mt, Prospect Ave, Newark, NJ 07104 a.) Employees engaged in residential construction were utilizing receptacles that lacked a cover to protect employees from contacting live wires and parts; there-by exposing employees to electrocution or electric shock hazards. CSHO observed violation on or about 6/03/2016.
