29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment:  (a) R & E Building Room RBC- 017:  A hazard assessment had not been made prior to permitting employees, without personal protective equipment, to enter and direct the cleanup of the workspace containing chemical hazards including but not limited to soot released following the May 14, 2016 fire, on or about June 14, 2016.     In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
