29 CFR 1926.651(i)(3): Sidewalks, pavements, or appurtenant structures had been undermined and a support system or another method was not provided to protect employees from the possible collapse of such structures:  a) 1308 Thelma Terrace, Linden, NJ 07036. Employees were working in a trench/excavation with sections of the concrete driveway undermined when a support system and or another method was not implemented to protect the employees from trench collapse exposing the employee to engulfment hazards.  Incident occurred on or about 06/22/16.

Employer allowed his employees to work in a trench to replace an existing sewer line with no protective system in place to protect his employee from cave-ins exposing them to engulfment hazards.
