29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a) Fort Belvoir Commissary: On or about 06/21/2016, an employee was loading steel deck panels onto a forklift while on a low sloped roof and was not protected from a possible 22 feet fall hazard. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.760(d)(2): Fall arrest system components used in fall restraint systems did not conform to the criteria in 1926.502. a) Fort Belvoir Commissary: On or about 06/21/2016, an employee working from a gable roof approximately 26 feet from the ground wrapped a rope line around a steel pre-manufactured truss frame and hooked directly back to the rope line. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
