29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins: a) At the jobsite, on or about 6/16/16: The employer did not ensure that an excavation, approximately 8.5 feet in depth, without a protective system, and where drilling and blasting would have disturbed the soil, was inspected to provide adequate protective systems following those conditions that would disturb the soil type and conditions.
