29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed parts of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform, excepting runways used exclusively for oiling, or running adjustments, shall be protected by a stationary casing enclosing shafting completely or by a trough enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting as location requires. WORKSHOP: The horizontal shafts of the Baldor deburring machine were unguarded.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): Employers shall develop, implement, and maintain at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g), and (h) of this section for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met. WORKSHOP: The written Hazardous Material Program had not included all the elements within the Hazard Communication Standard, including the Globalized Harmonized System for the employees required to work with chemicals, such as (but not limited to) coolants, oils, grease, alcohol, flux, epoxy, resin, argon, acetylene, and oxygen.
