29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c): (a) Employees, who were working inside of a 6-feet deep excavation, were not protected from the hazard of cave-in and being struck-by falling clumps of soil. The employer did not ensure that the walls of the trench were shored, adequately benched, sloped, or otherwise protected.
