29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets: a) At the jobsite 9 Cobb Parkway, Marietta, Georgia: The employer failed to ensure that employees utilized protective head equipment while working underneath a billboard where tools and other material could fall to the lower catwalk and/or ground level. Employees were exposed to being struck by falling materials while dismantling steel components of a billboard approximately 60 ft to the lower ground level.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees shall be provided and/or utilize eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. a) At the jobsite 9 Cobb Parkway, Marietta, Georgia: The employer failed to ensure that employees utilized protective eye equipment while grinding metal parts while performing assigned duties involving the dismantling of a billboard, approximately 60 ft. above the lower ground level. An employee was exposed to sparks generated from the grinding action of a portable grinder exposing the employee to eye injury.

29 CFR 1926.760(b)(1): Employees shall be protected in accordance with paragraph (a)(1) of this section from fall hazards of more than two stories or 30 feet (9.1 m) above a lower level, whichever is less or in the alternative 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(15): Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501(b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. (a) At the jobsite 9 Cobb Parkway, Marietta, Georgia: Employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 45-60 ft. above the lower ground level while dismantling a steel billboard and were not tied off. J-Mar Craneworks, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760 (b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315739565, citation number 1, item number 2 and was a final order February 01, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 112 Riverside Parkway, Macon, Georgia.
