29 CFR 1926.351(b)(2): Welding cable(s) in use were not free from improper repair or splices for a minimum distance of 10 feet from the cable end to which the electrode holder was connected: (a) Date of Violation: On or about 07-06-2016 and times prior thereto, located at USCG Base Portsmouth 4000 Coast Guard Blvd. Portsmouth, VA 23703, Pier-side, on Barge #JMC159, employee(s) were exposed to electrical hazards by welding with an improperly repaired welding cable approximately five (5) and three-quarter (3/4) inches from the electrode holder. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
