29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems: a) On or about 7/26/2016, Ag Quad, 220 Tower Rd, Ithaca, NY: On going inspections were not being performed by a competent person while employees were working inside of an excavation that was eight to ten feet weed, up to 38 feet long and up to 12 feet in depth. Abatement certification is required for this item.
