29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:      a)  Employees were exposed to 30 ft fall hazard on unprotected balconies.  Employees were drilling holes for balcony guardrails and some employees were not tied off to fall protection wedge anchors while other employees were going onto the balconies without fall protection.        Location: 670 Pacific Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.      On or about 5/9/2016      NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASEFILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION NOR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:    a)  Employees were not provided fall protection training when working on the balconies and using the wedge anchor system;  Employees were exposed to 30 ft fall hazard on unprotected balconies.
