29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1)(vi): Each employee performing overhand bricklaying operations from a supported scaffold shall be protected from falling from all open sides and ends of the scaffold (except at the side next to the wall being laid) by the use of a personal fall arrest system or guardrail system (with minimum 200 pound top rail capacity). a. On or about August 3, 2016 at the above addressed jobsite, employees conducting brick laying operations from a supported Scaffold, twenty-two (22') feet seven (7") inches above the ground, were exposed to fall hazards due to the lack of a complete guardrail system.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about August 3, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing masonry operations from the new construction of the second floor were exposed to falls greater than, sixteen (16) feet, created by the presence of unprotected sides.
