29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Elevator shaft entrance, 5-7 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA: On or about June 9, 2016 employees were exposed to fall hazards from an open elevator shaft which had floor and wall openings that were greater than 11 feet to the next lower level and employees were not protected from falling by the use of guard rail systems, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).
