29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2): Portable extinguishers or hose used in lieu thereof under paragraph (d)(3) of this section shall be visually inspected monthly. a. Entire Area - On or about August 9, 2016, the employer did not ensure potable fire extinguishers for employee use during emergencies were visually inspected at least monthly. Employees were thereby exposed to the hazards of incipient stage fires. 1. North/East Wall - one (1) fire extinguisher was missing its inspection tag and not inspected monthly. 2. South/East Wall - one (1) fire extinguisher was missing its inspection tag and not inspected monthly. 3. West/Wall - one (1) fire extinguisher had its blank inspection tag, but it was not inspected monthly.
