29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a). On or about August 9, 2016 one employee was observed installing metal gutter downspouts on a new one story commercial structure while standing on a wood pallet installed on a Genie GTH-644 telescopic Forklift and was exposed to a fall in excess of 12 feet to the ground below because he was not protected by any means of personal fall protection harness, guardrails or safety net.
