29 CFR 1926.304(d): Portable, power-driven circular saw(s) were not equipped with a guard above and below the base plate or shoe: (a) New townhome construction, Rear side cut bench: On or about August 10, 2016, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to severe laceration and amputation hazards while using circular saws, in that wood shims were placed in between the upper and lower guards to keep the lower guard from retracting after each cut was made which exposed employees to injuries.
