OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to explosion hazards: On or about August 10, 2016, in the recreational vehicle (RV) repair shop; the employer allowed employees to use polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe material did not meet specifications necessary to transport gases above ground via thermo plastic/polyvinyl chloride piping systems. The PVC pipe that was in use shattered due to pressurization of the air being transported through it.
