29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc: a. On or about September 22, 2016, at the residential picture window department of the above addressed worksite, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a radial saw (i.e. Dewalt, no other info available) that lacked a guard on both sides of the lower exposed portion of the blade, and did not return to the starting position when released by the operator. b. On or about September 22, 2016, at the residential picture window department of the above addressed worksite, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a table saw (i.e. no info available) that lacked a guard on the portion of the blade above the table and above the material being cut. c. On or about September 22, 2016, at the doors department of the above addressed worksite, an employee was exposed to a caught by hazard while working with a drill press (i.e. Delta, Serial #R6717) that lacked point of operation guarding. d.
