29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards associated with using a ladder to access and egress from the roof of an existing residential home. The most recent occurrence of this happened on a job site located at 14808 Fowler St. Omaha, NE where the employer had his employees using a Louisville aluminum extension ladder as means of access and egress of the roof of an existing residential home they were re-roofing, without having extended the ladder at least three feet over the upper landing surface.
