A 110 V fan in the boarding area was used with a missing ground pin (equipment grounding conductor).  b. Two 110 V blowers in the grooming area were used with missing ground pins.  c. A 110 V lift table in the grooming area was used with a missing ground pin.  Abatement documentation is required for this violation.

In the boarding area, a refrigerator and washing machine were energized by a power strip.  (A relocatable power tap (power strip) is not approved to power appliances, and stationary electrical equipment must be plugged into a permanent wiring system (also see 1910.305(g)(iv)(A).) 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): Except as provided in paragraphs (f)(7) and (f)(8) of this section, the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with either the information specified under paragraphs (f)(1)(i) through (v) of this section for labels on shipped containers or with the product identifier and pictures, symbols or combination thereof which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available  to employees under the hazard communication program, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical:  Throughout the facility, there were unlabeled containers of chemical products used, such as in the clinic area an approximate 28 oz bottle was unlabeled, in the boarding area, an approximate 28 oz. bottle was labeled only as "Boarding," and similar conditions were found in other areas.  Abatement documentation is required for this violation.

29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): An educational program was not provided for all employees to familiarize them with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting:  a. Where portable fire extinguishers were present in the facility, employees were not told whether they were to use or not use the equipment for incipient stage fires.  (Note: although some employees knew of evacuation and a meeting place upon exiting in the case of a fire, not all were trained.  Instead of training employees on how to use an extinguisher, an employer may have an evacuation plan, including where to meet upon exit and a means to ensure all employees are accounted for.  An employer may also make extinguishers available for some employees but annual training would then be required.)  Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
