29 CFR 1926.303(d) Section 8.5.6 American National Standards Institute B7.1-1970, Safety Code for the Use, Care, and Protection of abrasive Wheels as adopted by 29 CFR 1926.303(d), It shall be the user's responsibility to follow any special operating instructions furnished by the machine builder: On or about August 18, 2016, B.C. Landscape Masonry, Inc. provided and allowed for employee use at the job site an electric Milwaukee 4.5 inch heavy duty hand grinder, equipped with a 6 inch toothed general purpose cutting wheel. a) According to Milwaukee's operators manual the grinder is designed for 4.5 inch wheels and the wheel used was 6 inches in diameter. b) According to Milwaukee's operators manual, the attachment of a saw chain woodcarving blade, or toothed saw blade is not allowed. The blade attached to the grinder that the employer provided was a toothed saw blade.
