OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees that were working in close proximity to the rollers of a live conveyor: (a) Mail Room: The Employer did not ensure that rollers on the powered conveyor were always maintained in place to prevent being caught in moving parts from the opening created by missing rollers. Among other methods, one or more feasible and acceptable methods of abatement to correct this hazard would be to ensure that all rollers are properly maintained and are present on the machine prior to operation, so as to not allow for a gap in the conveyor.
