29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(12):  Ladders did not have nonconductive siderails and were used where the employee or the ladder could contact exposed energized electrical equipment:      (a)  Candy Paint at 3400 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80205: On and before August 19, 2016 the employer did not provide ladders with nonconductive siderails when working where the employee or the ladder could contact exposed energized electrical equipment. Two employees were injured when the 40 foot aluminum ladder they were moving contacted a 7620V overhead power line.  This condition exposed the employees to an electrical shock and/or electrocution hazard.

29 CFR 1926.1060(a):  The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize hazards related to ladders and stairways:      (a)  Candy Paint at 3400 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80205: On and before August 19, 2016 the employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders on the procedures to be followed to minimize hazards related to ladders.  Two employees were injured when the 40 foot aluminum ladder they were moving contacted a 7620V overhead power line. This condition exposed the employees to an electrical shock and/or electrocution hazard.      Abatement Note:  The employer shall ensure that each employee has been trained by a competent person in the following areas, as applicable:      (a)  The nature of electrical hazards in the work area;  (b)  The proper construction, use, placement, and care in handling of all stairways and ladders;  (c)  The maximum intended load-carrying capacities of ladders; and  (d)  The standards contained in this subpart.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): Employer had not developed, implemented or maintained at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g) and (h) of this section for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met:      (a)  Candy Paint at 3400 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80205: On and before August 19, 2016, the employer had not developed, implemented or maintained at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g) and (h) of 29 CFR 1910.1200 for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met. Employees were painting the outside of a residential complex. This condition exposed employees to chemical hazards associated with the use of chemicals such as, but not limited to, water based paints, stains and lacquer.     29 CFR 1926.59: The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth in 29 CFR 1910.1200.

Employees were painting the outside of a residential complex. This condition exposed employees to chemical hazards associated with the use of chemicals such as, but not limited to water based paints, stains and lacquer.   29 CFR 1926.59: The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth in 29 CFR 1910.1200.
