29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(6): Unsecured ladder(s) were used on surfaces that were not stable and level: a- 1400 Waverly Avenue, Long Beach Township NJ: An employee at the worksite was exposed to fall hazards when utilizing an unsecured aluminum extension ladder whose feet were not set on a stable and level surface. This ladder was set on sandy ground below. Condition noted on or about 08/25/16. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: a- 1400 Waverly Avenue, Long Beach Township NJ: An employee at the worksite was exposed to fall hazards when utilizing an unsecured aluminum extension ladder whose feet were not set on a stable and level surface. This ladder was set on sandy ground below. This employee and the other worksite company employees had not received ladder hazard recognition training or other training related to ladder safety up to and at the time of the worksite inspection. Condition existed on or about 08/25/16. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
