29 CFR 1926.451(g)(4)(i): Guardrail systems shall be installed along all open sides and ends of platforms. Guardrail systems shall be installed before the scaffold is released for use by employees other than erection/dismantling crews. On July 25, 2016 - at the above referenced location - employees of Slic Koatings were required to work from scaffolding in the performance of their duties. The employer failed to ensure that all open sides and ends of the scaffolding were adequately protected by guardrail systems. Employees were thereby exposed to fall hazards of approximately 15'. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
