Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment.    a) AB Group Packaging - On or about August 31, 2016, several employees were exposed to eye injuries and/or skin embolism when cleaning printers and themselves with compressed air nozzles between 40 to 80 p.s.i. without effective chip guarding or personal protective equipment.

Except as provided in paragraphs (f)(7) and (f)(8) of this section, the employer shall ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace is labeled, tagged or marked.  a) AB Group Packaging -On or about August 31, 2016, the employer did not ensure each container of hazardous chemicals used in the workplace was labeled , with the employees using approximately 8 ounce size containers of an unidentified liquid to clean the surfaces of the rollers on the printing press.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:  a)  AP Group Packaging-  On or about August 31, 2016, the employees were provided and used chemicals products such as, but not limited to, Cyclohexanol, Ammonia, Glycol Ether,Dipropylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether without being provided effective training on those hazardous chemicals.
