29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: A) Building 4026, CNC section, on or about August 30, 2016, the unused portion of the saw blade on a W F Wells horizontal band saw was not guarded, exposing employees to the hazard of a rotating saw blade. B) Building 4026, on or about August 31, 2016, the rear area of an Edward Pearson shearing machine was not adequately guarded to prevent employees from entering the area behind the machines during operation, exposing the employee to laceration hazards.
