29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c). The employer had not complied with the provisions of 29 CFR 1926.652(b)(1)(i) in that: a) Gaylord Palms Site - Two employees of a subcontractor were exposed to a cave-in hazard while spreading gravel near the base of a 13 to 13.5 foot high excavation wall, which was dug in type "c" soil, on or about August 4, 2016. b) Gaylord Palms Site - One employee of a subcontractor was exposed to a cave-in hazard while holding an engineering rod near the base of a 13 to 13.5 foot high excavation wall, which was dug in type "c" soil, on or about August 2, 2016.
