29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    (a) On or about September 21, 2016 and at times prior thereto employees were exposed to abrasion hazards while using a Delta belt and disc sander, where the unused portion of the belt was not guarded at the nip point. The belt and disc sander was located in the welding bay.    Abatement certification is required for this item.    The Oregon Air National Guard Metal Shop was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 987811, citation number 1, item 2, issued on September 4, 2014 with a final order date of October 8, 2014.
