29 CFR 1910.263(e)(1)(viii): Horizontal dough mixer(s) were not equipped with a full enclosure over the bowl which was closed at all times while the agitator was in motion. There were more than minor openings in this enclosure, such as ingredient doors, flour inlets, etc., each representing less than 1 1/2 square feet in area, that were capable of being opened while the mixer was in operation: (a) Amfec and Reitz crust and batter mixers - the openings between the bars of the top gate where ingredients were poured through were larger than 1 1/2 square feet with 3-inch wide and greater spaces between the bars of the entire gate cover, exposing employees to an amputation hazard; observed on or about 10/19/16.
