29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. On or about October 5, 2016, an employee installing siding with a pneumatic nail fastener was exposed to struck by hazards when the employer failed to ensure eye protection was provided. Abatement certification is required in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. On or about October 5, 2016, employees installing siding from a pump jack scaffold were exposed to a fall hazard of 13.9' when the employer failed to ensure fall protection was provided. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
