29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion: (a) The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to chemical hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful isocyanate substances. Employees in the molding and frame assembly departments used cotton gloves for their tasks. Employees were exposed to the possibility of skin contact with liquid isocyanates (a chemical component of some of the binders used).
